I guess it's high time I do this even though I absolutely hate rock bios. Anyway, we've been through so much together now as friends and as a band that I feel like a brief introduction to us and a RECENT history makes much more sense than listing shit that you could care less about.

the lou reeds started as a recording project for Deric Shannon and John Wyatt in the winter about four years ago. They didn't do a whole lot with it outside of the first album...a mostly acoustic record called "Steady Diet of Anti-depressants". John moved away. Deric Stayed. Deric made the lou reeds a band after his project with Kevin McElmurray and Eric Scott, The Mighty 7", broke up because Kevin moved for doctoral school. Anyway, we played with everyone in the known western world until it became the three-piece it is now-- Deric Shannon, Andy Jackson, and Nic Lee.

Andy stays behind the bass and the microphone. He's working on his bachelor's degree at BSU for Natural Resources and Environmental Management. He has been working incredibly hard maintaining his excellent Grade Point Average while balancing his diet with way too much booze every single fucking day (I should mention here that it's fun to be the designer of our site).

Nic is a working stiff and is the very backbone of American society...Ok...Sometimes he is. Other times he is playing music and not finding it easy to get a job. He plays guitar, drums, and sings.

Deric is working on his Master's degree in sociology. When he is not avoiding real work or playing online games for fantasy creeps, he is sleeping. He plays guitar, bass, drums, and sings.

Three EPs, one big tour, four small ones, and a few years later they are still plugging away at this music thing. They all have an abiding interest in music as art and propaganda. They all plan on staying in this band for good. They all wish that they would have been born into the world of the future where the means of production are controlled democratically and artists no longer have to starve to continue creating art. They all hope to help bring this world about.

           There.
